SCRAPHAPPY / LOAD222 / "OUR BITTERSWEET REUNION"/ LAYOUT PROCESS

FEATURED DESIGNER LOAD222 Day#28:

Congrats, you are all winners in my book. And I am very proud of you all LOAD'STERS 💖💖💖... See my process Below....

And Finish Strong.... You got this...

----Click  on the image to go to the website----

Let's Dive In The Prompts For TODAY:

The Theme:              Friends Reunion.

Story Prompt:          In the Friends Reunion we learn what each character has been up to since the last episode. Time warp... create a now and then page about yourself now and you from the past!    Even   better if you include friends from now and then.

Technique Prompt:   Use a split layout design.

My Layout:

-LOAD222 Day #28_Featured Layout by Emine Pala_Pazan-
--OUR BITTERSWEET REUNIONS--

This layout I created for this LAST day, is a really hard story to tell. Yet I intentionally choose to tell one of the hardest stories of my life, in a way that it doesn't appear that way. Healing me in the process. The story of MY many many BITTERSWEET REUNIONS with my Dear Daughters, I had to gave up for their safety. Our reality THEN & unfortunately Still our reality NOW...

With 1 Major difference though, WE ARE SAFE. And our bond is stronger then ever.

In short;
The bright colors, A lot of Splitting (the technique + the story prompt translated into the colors and THE MOST PRECIOUS MOMENT captured in these photographs, elements, techniques, words) makes up the my whole storytelling.
The fun elements makes it fit the theme perfectly. To me at least, because it is my story to tell and I choose how and in what way I want to tell it. With a lot of Gratitude in the end.

Sidenote:
I want to be honest though, it took me quite some time to finish this 12x12 page (I got also Covid for the 2nd time UGH). That wasn't the only problem. I found myself going through the stages of Grief that surfaced while I was working on this layout.
Memorykeeping is truly a healing journey. I am proud with the end result. A tribute for the love as a Mother for my Children. Very Grateful. Thank you so much @Alice for giving me the prompt I needed so much in my life, that I even didn't know I needed.

I also try to cut everything as much as I can by hand... Designed my own circle templates, no punches required here LOL. I did use a Masking Stencil, Stickers, Chipboard Gears, Metallic Relief Paste (Will link the supplies down below this post).

What really stood out to me, was the word "Reunion" + all the other ORANGE marked words. (The Bitter Part) and the Friends Tv Show, the bond they have (The Sweet Part).... Yet the other word friends is in a soft pink/red-ish color. (you will see the colors in the design itself) Why? I knew what story I wanted to tell. But not a story about friendship. Much deeper then that.

The questions was HOW could I tell this story, without really telling it? Without it being too Heavy? I decided to let the pictures and a couple of words tell the story for me.

I was also inspired by the GEARS (from the song-lyrics) to create this nice effect of a split design. Life is not a straight line right? why would my design be a straight split LOL.

-I layered the chipboard Embossed Clock onto the chipboard-
Gears, with a tiny black brad in the middle...

This is kind of how my brain works, when I get a prompt.

That's why I am really bad at the fast-paced challenges, due to the fact that I am analyzing every part of it. (I need to work on it, I know) Play with different shapes and sizes before I find the perfect way that supports the way I want to tell my story.

But I can participate with mixed-media or JunkJournalling/Art-journalling, right ? LOL....

It's almost midnight here in the Netherlands right now. So I will set the time for this blogpost to air on the correct date and time. But I do need to include a supply list.... (even created a video I need to edit)...

I WISH YOU ALL GOOD LUCK...

SCRAPSTREET ROUND 4, TOOT AND OTHER NEWS

This is the page that I've created for my challenge 'what's your style' at scrapstreet.com... Creating this was SO FUN, I really enjoyed it... Maybe because it's ALL ABOUT MY STYLE ;)
I noticed that i'm getting faster with scrapping. It took me usually DAYS before I finished a layout now I can do it in one evening and STILL LOVE THE result...
And I realize that THIS IS WHAT I WAS MEANT TO DO... I am REALLY addicted to it...

BTW: I printed the photo on white cardstock and sanded the edges with a scissor... I always use scissors for that... It gives the edges a GREAT texture and I'm all about texture AS you know...

You can see my challenge over here: What's your style... It would be very fun if you participated too...

MY TOOT

You know that I haven't been chosen for the Story of your life DT. But yesterday I received an email from sweet SARA (I think she's the owner ;) if I wanted to be a guest-designer in the future.. Ofcourse i jumped on it right away LOL... And her sweet words really touched me. It's always great to get praised.

I am not sad anymore. Being an honorable mention AND a guest designer is such an HONOR. Thank you sweet Sara... I really appreciate it... (I still hope you change your mind though LOL)...

LOOK AT MY NEW BANNER

first banner actually... Thanks to Daphne ... She is amazing... Look at it, it is Gorgeous.. Thank you Daphne and for the fact you did this while you are SICK... Go check out her blog... She is also VERY talented...

I am still working on my spread for Akkefietje ... This is going to be a very FUN page... I will post a SNEAK (you know i love it)...

Last night I was reading Ali Edwards first book (a designers eye for scrapbooking)... And I red the page about finding your own style... I've been thinking about it for a long time now... Trying to figure out my style... So I started an inspiration file... It's going to be a LONG project, a long journey but a very fun though... Everything that I think it's interesting will be in it... It's NOT going to be a scrapbook album.. I'll glue down things and write, sketch and doodle next to it on plain white CHEAP paper LOL..

I made 2 pages ALREADY... And created 2 scrapbook layouts using them as inspiration...

This page is one of them (i can't show you the other b/c it is for Akkefietje)... I was inspired by a jeans label to CREATE the journalling block... How cool is that!!!

Ali Edwards is also talking about personalizing your pages... Putting some kind of a signature on your page (which makes your page unique)... You all know that Ali is using her initial on almost every layout she creates... So I came up with my own signature... Using something ORANGE on Almost every page... (If it doesn't fit on a page sometimes, that's cool)...

Why? well, I discovered while working on my inspiration file that I have a weakness to that color I want to use it a lot... I noticed that when I'm using something orange on my pages it's getting more interesting (for me of course)... So, the next time I post a layout , search for that color LOL... (btw I used Orange on purpose while creating the Hambly album)...

I just LOVE IT... Now I'm off to scrap (something orange LOL)

Have a nice day America and Good night Europe ;)

GOT SOME INSPIRATION

It has been a very inspirational day today...
I spend a lot of time reading cathyzielske blog ... I love her work... She is such a good scrapper... I just want to meet her... That would be very hard because I dont live there *DAMN*

I also love to read the blog of elsie AND OFCOURSE *my favourite* Ali .... They are fabulous...

BTW my dads name is Ali to LOL!!!

Ali Edwards was here in Februar, but I couldn't go to meet her... There were some personal issues going on... *DAMN*
But I have the chance to meet Elsie Flannigan... She is coming here to teach some classes at piens ... I hope I can go there... That would be awesome... Love them very much...

Well, reading there blogs gives me so much ideas and inspiration... I wish they wrote 10 times a day LOL...

Today I was smoking outside and got a very cute idea... It's one of my dreams to teach classes and inspire people... They can, why can't I RIGHT? So I had this idea and I want to work on it... I'm planning to make an album that's inspirational to everyone... I'm so pumped about it!!!

Well, it's getting late here in Europe... So I'm gonna read some more blogs and go to bed... The first thing that's on my to-do-list tomorrow is cleaning my scraproom... It's a mess out there.. I just finished my mini-CJ... And this is the result LOL...

I will take a picture when it's all cleaned and tight :)

Have a nice day y'all (I getting much better with English :) :)
